The Tesla Roadster promises to be the world’s fastest car, expected to go on sale on 2020.
While it will be two years yet before the Tesla Roadster can be seen cruising the most important cities in the world, a great number of lucky fans got to see it at the Swiss Grand Basel Show, which makes us wonder how close the project is from its final form: a car that promises to go from 0 to 60 miles in less than two seconds.
While attendants couldn’t test it, the show permitted fans to admire a luxurious, white color version of the Tesla Roadster in display. It also permitted attendants to enjoy each of the exterior characteristics that make this fabulous car. Now, you may be wondering, what characteristics are these?
There is no doubt the Tesla Roadster is one of the most fascinating models in the Tesla’s electric car line. This model displays a mix of beautiful lines and a silhouette like no car before it ever has.
If there is anything Efraín Rojas Mata remarks on is the fact that the Tesla Roadster revolutionizes the Roadster concept. These types of vehicles are two-seat sports convertibles. However, the Tesla model goes beyond what is expected of a sports car, but not because it is a convertible or a two-seater, but because it has a dismountable Targa roof.
According to Tesla, the Roadster can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles an hour in only 1.9 seconds. If Tesla’s estimates are true, once the Roadster’s production starts, it will become the fastest car in the world.
So far, Tesla has not been able to determine the car’s max velocity, but it is widely known that it can go up to 620 miles on a single battery charge, besting by a wide margin most regular gas cars. This speed is not just thanks to its three electric motors, but also to its aerodynamic design.
Unfortunately, it will still be two years before we can see this car’s great potential, though Tesla endeavors to be able to offer the Roadster come 2020.
